SRS Vedic Mathematics Academy was founded on 6th November 2016. However, the task of spreading the knowledge of Vedic Mathematics started from November 2006, in coordination with SRS Computer Services, Goa’s foremost computer training institute founded by Mr. Sagar Sakordekar in 1988 while pursuing his post graduation in Master of Computer Applications following graduation in Mechanical Engineering. He got his inspiration from Late Prof. Uday Amonkar, who used to conduct Vedic Mathematics workshops in schools, before joining as a professor in Goa Engineering College.
In the initial stages for the first 5 years Mr. Sagar Sakordekar conducted only introductory workshops in schools and colleges apart from detailed ones conducted only during vacations at SRS Computer Services. The first detailed workshop in school premises was conducted in Gandhidham, Gujarat at Excelssor School. For the very first batch a nominal fee of Rs. 100 per student was charged with 30 students registered for this course of 6 hrs. With this the journey to bring Vedic Mathematics to spotlight began.
For motivating students to integrate their academic studies with Vedic Mathematics and to check their regular growth, SRS Computer Services decided to start the ‘All Goa Vedic Mathematics Test’ (AGVMT) from 2012 which replaced the, ‘All Goa Computer Quiz’ conducted by same institution at school level from1992 to 2011. The first five All Goa Vedic Mathematics Tests were conducted by SRS Computer Services and thereafter by SRS Vedic Mathematics Academy from 2017 following it’s launch.
In 2012-13 a massive drive was taken to promote the awareness of Vedic Mathematics as a part of the silver jubilee celebrations of SRS Computer Services and that tempo has continued till date.
The same year Mr. Sagar Sakordekar took an important decision, to dedicate himself for Vedic Mathematics as he sidelined his dedicated computer training business in November 2018 and since has set on the mission to spread the knowledge of Vedic Mathematics to maximal possible.
About The Founder
Mr Sagar Ram Sakordekar (B.E Mech, M.C.A., A.M.I.E.), Founder of SRS Vedic Mathematics Academy, takes keen interest in Vedic Mathematics. After successfully running Software Development & Computer Training Institute under the name of SRS Computer Services for 30 years (November 1988 to October 2018), he has retired (from November 2018) from business to devote fully towards promotion of Vedic Mathematics and other social activities.
He has taken up the mission to spread the knowledge of Vedic Mathematics to all schools in Goa and then to all other states of India. To fulfill this mission he has established his own academy with social approach under the name SRS Vedic Mathematics Academy at Mangeshi. He has conducted number of workshops on Vedic Mathematics for students & teachers in various schools / colleges in Goa, Karnataka, Gujarat and Maharashtra since the last thirteen years, covering a wide range of students from school to post graduate level. So far, Mr. Sagar Sakordekar has taught Vedic Mathematics to more than 75,000 students & 1,800 teachers through more than 1,200 different workshops. He has more than 30 years of teaching experience in computers and 17 years in Vedic Mathematics.
He is involved in many social activities / NGO’s and held number of positions in social organizations/NGO’s, a few of which are as follows:
